The Southern Mindanao region, also known as the Davao Region, is designated as Region XI, is a diverse and vibrant area located in the southeastern part of the Philippines. Comprising five provinces, namely Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and the highly urbanized city of Davao. Its Regional Center is located in Davao City, Davao Del Sur.

This region is known for its stunning natural landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and dynamic economic activities.

Among its notable features is Mount Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines, attracting hikers and nature enthusiasts from around the world. The region also boasts picturesque beaches, such as the pristine shores of Samal Island and the captivating landscapes of Mati City.

Culturally, the Davao Region is home to diverse indigenous groups like the Bagobo, Mandaya, and Manobo, each contributing to the region’s unique tapestry of traditions, crafts, and festivities.
