Antipolo City a component city is the provincial capital of Rizal province and as it has a higher elevation is known for its magnificent view overlooking Metro Manila, as well as its rich cultural heritage and natural attractions. A key destination in the city is the Antipolo Cathedral, a major pilgrimage site, especially during the pilgrimage season in May.

With a 2020 census population of 887,399 people, it is the most populated city in the CALABARZON Region and the seventh-most in the country. It has a land area of 306.10 square kilometers or 118.19 square miles.

The city’s geography features the Hinulugang Taktak waterfalls, a popular spot for both locals and tourists, the area, initially 0.8 hectares, was expanded to 3.2 hectares upon its designation as a national park.
