When the family and I traveled to the Philippines this last summer we had only one real bad experience. My wife and I got SIM cards, and my kids didn’t, my fault.

Traveling to a foreign country with your cellphone? Want to get into debt?

After you get through with customs you will run into a booth giving away free SIM Cards for your cell phone. You just have to by a one-month plan. The popular is Globe and costs about USD $40.00

My cell phone company wanted to charge me USD$10.00/day for each phone international rates. Of course, I didn’t want to pay that, so I told my kids not to call anyone except through, “Facebook Messenger” and only to stream while using some else’s load. Unfortunately, my cell phone company still charged me.

Using a load through Globe:

When you use a plan through Globe, you pay so many pesos per plan. This allows you to make phone calls, stream the internet, and so forth.

The moral of this story is: if you’re going to a foreign country get a local SIM card, go through the process because if you don’t your wallet won’t thank you.
