The Calamansi is my favorite citrus, and when I visit the Philippines, I like to drink it as a juice. Most Filipinos like it as part of their meals.
Here are some facts about the Calamansi Lime:
Calamansi, also known as calamondin or Philippine lime, is a small citrus fruit popular in Southeast Asia and the Philippines. It is often used in various culinary applications due to its sour and tangy flavor, similar to a mix of lime and tangerine.
The fruit is a rich source of vitamin C and antioxidants, making it a popular choice for traditional remedies and refreshing beverages. Additionally, its juice and zest are commonly used in marinades, salad dressings, and as a flavoring for both savory and sweet dishes.
With its versatile and unique taste, calamansi adds a delightful citrusy kick to numerous recipes, making it a beloved ingredient in many cuisines.

When we went to the Philippines in the Summer of 2023, we visited some of our family and friends in Bangar, La Union and spent a few days on their Calamansi Farm. Here are a few pictures of the citrus still on the tree.
