Romblon, an archipelago province in the MIMAROPA Region is often celebrated as the Marble Capital of the Philippines. Its provincial capital is the municipality of Romblon.

Nestled in the heart of the Sibuyan Sea, Romblon consists of three major islands—Romblon Island, Sibuyan Island, and Tablas Island—along with smaller islets that are scattered beautifully across the azure sea.

The province boasts a diverse range of natural spectacles. From the stunning Mt. Guiting-Guiting, which is a favorite among mountaineers for its challenging trails and rich biodiversity, to the serene beaches with powdery white sand such as those in Bonbon Beach and Cresta de Gallo, Romblon offers a slice of paradise for various types of travelers.

Romblon’s economy is primarily anchored on marble quarrying. Its high-quality marble is comparable to that of Italy’s Carrara, which is why sculptors and builders from across the globe source their marble here. The intricate craftsmanship of carving marble has been passed down through generations, and visitors to the province can witness this artistry all around—whether in workshops, in homes, or in public spaces where sculptures proudly stand.

The cultural heritage of Romblon is also rich and colorful, preserved in the traditional dances, language, and practices of the local people. One can experience this during the Biniray Festival, which celebrates the Sto. Niño and features street dancing, parades, and a fluvial procession.

One cannot talk about Romblon without mentioning the serene waters that surround it, which are ideal for diving and snorkeling. The waters are home to vibrant coral reefs and a diversity of marine life that makes it a haven for underwater enthusiasts.

Pristine, tranquil, but also rugged and adventurous, Romblon remains one of the Philippines’ hidden gems, offering experiences that are both restorative for the soul and exciting for the spirit. With its increasing popularity among local and international tourists, Romblon is steadily emerging from the shadow of the country’s more well-known destinations, delivering unique experiences shaped by its natural beauty and its people’s way of life.
