Looking at the Mountainous Cordillera Administrative Region

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) designated as Region XIV, is a landlocked region in the northern part of the Philippines. It is known for its stunning mountainous landscapes, which include the Cordillera Central Mountain range, renowned for its lush forests and picturesque rice terraces.

The region is home to 6 provinces: Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and the Mountain Province, and is home to several indigenous tribes, each with its own rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Benguet is the home of the Baguio City: an independent city it is known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines. While Ifugao is the location of the world famous Banaue Rice Terraces.

Bordered by the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon, CAR’s natural beauty and cultural diversity make it a popular destination for ecotourism and cultural immersion. Among its notable attractions are the Banaue Rice Terraces, often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” and the scenic town of Sagada, famous for its caves, waterfalls, and hanging coffins.
