The Municipality of Rapu‑Rapu

Rapu‑Rapu is a third‑class municipality composed of 3 islands and 34 barangays, of which 21 are on Batan Island and 13 are on Rapu-Rapu Island (which will be covered in a later blog). Historically, the area was influenced by Franciscan missionaries as early as the 1600s and became an organized municipality in 1901.
