Santiago Island is one of the hidden gems of Bolinao, a coastal municipality in Pangasinan known for its pristine beaches, waterfalls, and rich marine biodiversity. There is also the famous “Fourteen Mile Reef” off the coast of Santiago Island is several kilometers long and is actually an extension of the western edge of the Lingayen Gulf. Its gradual slope ranges from 10 meters (33 ft) to 40 meters (130 ft) with the western edge dropping abruptly to over 250 meters (820 ft).
