
San Jose del Monte (abbreviated as SJDM or CSJDM) is a component city, located in the province of Bulacan, in the Central Luzon Region of the Philippines, it is a thriving urban area known for its rich cultural heritage and rapid industrial growth, it sits right next to Metro Manila.
With a 2020 census population of 651,813, it also has a land area of 105.53 square kilometers or 40.75 square miles. The city has some of the biggest resettlement areas in the Philippines, these are former informal settlers from along the creeks, esteros, riverbanks, and railway tracks of Metro Manila. In March of 2023 the barangay of Muzon was split into 4 new barangays: Muzon Proper, Muzon East, Muzon South, and Muzon West.
As one of the most populous cities in the country, it boasts a blend of historical landmarks, natural attractions, and modern infrastructure. The city is home to notable sites such as the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto Shrine, a significant pilgrimage destination, and the SJDM Sports Complex, which hosts various local and national sporting events. With its strategic location, just north of Metro Manila, San Jose del Monte serves as a crucial gateway to the northern provinces, making it a bustling hub for trade, commerce, and tourism.
